Mr. Murer brings over 30 years of experience in the automotive industry, specifically in the sale and marketing of products directly to consumers. In 1995, Mr. Murer founded the Service Contract Follow-Up Program concept, which ultimately led to founding Automotive Product Consultants, Inc. (APC) in July 2000. Today, APC has grown into APC Integrated Services Group (APCISG) with a whole suite of companies all working together for 19 years.
Prior to the founding of APC, Mr. Murer was the president of an internet/classified advertisement private-party finance start-up company called C.A.R.E., LLC, which was built on the premise of providing auto loan financing and after-market product sales like service contracts in consumer-to-consumer automobile transactions.
Mr. Murer worked for Pat Ryan and Associates (at that time a subsidiary of AON Corporation; now a subsidiary of the Warranty Group) from 1987 through 1995. As an appointed consultant at Pat Ryan and Associates, Mr. Murer was placed in 17 different dealership assignments in various states during a one-year training campaign where he learned the real world approach to financing vehicles and selling ancillary products to consumers.
This real-world experience provided Mr. Murer with his knowledge of the inner workings of a modem dealership. Mr. Murer was provided with advanced guided-discovery training by AON, and this led to many years of hands-on development, training & management of dealership Finance personnel and responsibility for departmental profitability. He was advanced to National acquisition manager, responsible for large national dealership clientele, prior to his resignation to start the direct to consumer industry. Mr. Murer holds a BA in business administration from Westminster College.
